The best hotels

Lavanta Hotel ££

This delightfully furnished eight-room hotel is north-west of the Bodrum peninsula near the picturesque village of Yalikavak. It’s a quiet getaway where nothing is too much trouble for the owners, Maria and Tosun. A large pool overlooks the sea and the lavish gardens are wonderfully peaceful (0090 252 385 2167; lavanta.com; doubles from £90).

“Ideal Holiday”

Beschreibung: 5 of 5 starsReviewed 23 September 2012 NEW

We are just back from a week's holiday at Hotel Lavanta where we had the most amazing time. From the lovely breakfast each morning overlooking the amazing peninsula, to the tea time cakes at 5.00 pm, every little detail was taking care of by our hosts and nothing was too much trouble. Maria and Tosun are only too happy to recommend excursions (boat trip with Ahmet and Liz is highly recommended!), places to visit (Ephesus is a must!!) and local restaurants to dine at in the evening. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and we made a number of friends just relaxing by the pool with a glass of local wine. We have left beautiful weather and stunning scenery for grey and rainy London, but at least we have our pictures of a wonderful holiday!!!

 “Charming and friendly”

Beschreibung: 5 of 5 starsReviewed 23 September 2012 NEW

What can I say that others have not already said? Maria and Tosun are are perfect hosts, very friendly and accommodating. The hotel is lovely, set up the hill away from the main town, making it quiet and relaxing. The pool and garden are lovely, and breakfast on the terrace was excellent with fresh figs and fruit, and delicious eggs.

Normally we don't go back to places, preferring to try new options all the time, but I would seriously consider returning to Lavanta.

A+

“Holiday beyond words”

Beschreibung: 5 of 5 starsReviewed 21 September 2012 NEW

We've just returned to India after spending 4 fabulous days at Lavanta. Everything about Lavanta is perfect and memorable. Great location on the hill, each room with a view of the Aegean sea, surprisingly good and deep swimming pool, excellent home-made breakfast, wonderful homemade cakes and snacks at tea-time, quiet, efficient and helpful staff, nice setting with trees and flowers all around. More than everything else, the owners Maria and Tohsun make you feel like you are visiting your parents. Their warmth and concern for the comfort of the guests made us decide to visit again and tell some more of our friends to do the same. Undoubtedly, the best place ever we have stayed on holiday. It deserves something more than the highest 5-star recommendation.

“A little piece of paradise”

Beschreibung: 5 of 5 starsReviewed 20 September 2012 NEW

We've just returned to the UK after having one of the best holidays that we can remember at the Lavanta. Maria and Tosun are so welcoming and nothing is too much trouble for them. The setting is wonderful; on a hillside overlooking the Aegean, set among trees and beautiful bouganvilea flowers. Fabulous 18 metre swimming pool with a proper "deep end". Amazing views, loveley breakfasts, homemade cakes at tea time...I want to go back!

  “Kindness and beauty that soothe”

Beschreibung: 5 of 5 starsReviewed 20 September 2012 NEW

Single woman traveling alone, I needed a one week stay in a calm, peaceful and soothing place. The reviews I had read on Lavanta Hotel really helped me in deciding to go there and everything they say is true : Maria and Tossun legendary warmth, the incredible relaxing atmosphere, the delicious homemade cakes at tea time, the smiling and welcoming staff, all this participated in making my stay one of a kind. I still enjoy the benefits of my holidays by just remembering the breakfast in the mediterranean garden, the glass of wine at sunset and the spectacular view, the lingering around the swimming pool...

Only 45 minutes away from Bodrum-Milas airport, 10 mi. (15 Km) from Bodrum and 0.75 mi. (1.2 Km) from Yalikavak centre.:

Road directions: From the airport there are road signs how to come to Bodrum and to Yalikavak. Take direction Bodrum. Short before arriving to Bodrum, there is a deviation turning to right with a sign saying Yalikavak. After the deviation you drive through the little villages of Torba and Gundogan, a ride through a forest of around 20 km. However, if you miss this sign, the road going through Bodrum leads also to Yalikavak. When you come in Yalikavak you'll arrive in a round about. Drive around 100 meters (not more) literally down to Yalikavak, turn to left (there is our sign on the left side of the road) and drive down the large, asphalted road. On the next two junctions turn left, next right ( there are Lavanta signs all the way). Summary: three times left. one time right. Just for the case: our phone nr. is 0252 3852167.
