Yalikavak’s public beach (no entrance fee). Y a l i k a v a k  has a small sandy beach in the town centre only 1.5 km (1 ml.) from Lavanta. There are no water sports available, hence it is a lovely quiet beach where you can relax in peace. At the beach you will find small cafés, bars and restaurants. However, the sand has been transported. There is no entrance  fee.

Xuma Beach Club (entrance fee).  Xuma Beach Club is located in a quiet bay on the south side of the Yalikavak’s Kütür Peninsula, 4 km. (2.5 miles) away from LAVANTA HOTEL. It is a rather exclusive club, and a popular destination for Turks. It offers several recreational and sports facilities as well as three restaurants and a beach bar. The entrance fee is five dollars on weekdays and eight dollars on the weekends.

The entrance fee covers use of the beach with all its sun beds, hammocks, and giant pillows, a TV-lounge, plus several sports facilities that include soccer, basketball, table tennis, and volleyball.Jet skis (10 min/25 Euro), water-skiing (10 min/25 Euro ), wakeboarding (10 min/25 Euro ), and canoeing (30 min/5 Euro ) are also available. Families especially appreciate the large and well-equipped children's playground. Although the drinks may seem a little high by local standards at the bar (beer - 4 Euro , Coffee - 1,50 Euro ), guests can choose from a variety of snacks at reasonable prices (grilled chicken - 4 Euro , toasted sandwiches - 2,50 Euro , cake - 2,50 Euro ). Whereas the Mexican and Italian restaurants serve food all day, the seafood restaurant is open in the evenings only. For dinner the tables are set up on the pier, on platforms on the water, and on the beach.

Dodo Beach Club (entrance fee) Dodo Beach Club is located in a bay on the north side of the Yalikavak Peninsula, 5 km.(3 miles) away from LAVANTA HOTEL. It has recently reopened and offers a variety of water sports such as water-skiing, wakeboarding, and jet skiing. Guests may also choose to enjoy the fitness and weightlifting studio with a professional instructor. The bar offers different snacks and drinks at rather high prices, and the restaurant Le Cigare is open for lunch only. The small club does not charge its guests an entrance fee. The sun beds on the pier and on the beach are very comfortable, however it is impossible to escape the loud music that plays all day long.

G ü m b e t near Bodrum. G ü m b e t   is a tourist centre just outside Bodrum. There is a regular Dolmus service between Bodrum and Gümbet. This is not the place for you if your preference is for peace and quiet. Gümbet is aimed towards young people as a place to meet in one of the dozens of bars all playing loud music. The beach is sandy and every kind of  water sport is available. It is very crowded in the summer.

In  T u r g u t r e i s  you will find another recommended beach, somewhat of a compromise between Yalikavak and Gümbet. It has a nice sandy beach with limited water sports available and some restaurants and bars. Compared to Gümbet it is quiet. Follow the signs to Turgutreis on the crossing halfway between  Yalikavak and Bodrum.
